Navigating Day 1 on Ozempic: What I Didn’t Expect

Doctor: You must have heard about it.

Me: Yes.

Doctor: Imagine you’re a gay person who sees a beautiful girl—you wouldn’t feel any desire. This medication will affect your brain similarly, but with food.

Me thinking: Not the best analogy, but I understand.

Me: Okay.

Last night, the doctor recommended Ozempic. I took the 1 mg shot, and it was easy to inject. There was a slight sensation on my skin for a few minutes (I administered it on my tummy).

For those fixated on the analogy—move on. He’s a good doctor.

This morning, I woke up with a “chemical” taste in my mouth. I felt fine, thanks to the sleeping pills the doctor gave me. It’s been two weeks of averaging only three hours of sleep per night. Thank you, smartwatch, for the data.

As usual, A glass of water, I went to the bathroom—everything was normal.

While brushing my teeth, I cleared my tongue and suddenly gagged, and …….woaaaakh! woaaaaAAaaakh! Leading to vomiting my dinner.

Thankfully, my toilet is small, so I managed to make it to the commode.

I thought, well, it’s working.

After the usual morning routine of showering and shaving, I was ready for the day. (Pro tip: Shit-Shower-shave, that’s the order)

Breakfast : Ice cold coffee and lots of water.

Lunch was a simple salad, probably the simplest lunch I’ve ever had in years. I wasn’t hungry, but I ate it, and so full that just thinking about food made me feel guilty.

Lunch
Salad in Restaurant
Dinner
Home Made Chiken with veggies

Occasionally, in the morning. I experience itchiness around the injection site.

On the way home (Walking), I don’t know why I was craving fruit, so I picked up a small Green Apple. It was satisfying.

I feel like dinner was too much, and right now, as I am writing this, I feel like I’m going to puke. I kind of forced myself to eat a full plate.

I am going for a walk and hope I will feel better after that.

Background :

I am at 45yrs old, 98Kg, 183cms, work a lot (sitting) and my BP is skyrocketing, heart rate 120+ sitting. And of course, I am dealing with insulin resistance. Last month, I touched 100KG!!

I have tried many ways to lose weight, including deadlifts and all, but due to a lot of excuses and other factors (mostly excuses), I keep regaining the weight. PLUS Drinking, a lot.
