Read books, even comics, and write about them. This will add you to the top of the human pyramid. You will learn to keep your focus, you will learn to ask questions, and, best of all, you will learn how to be “with yourself”. Most people are in very bad relationships with themself. Most people can’t live with themself.
There will not be much progress, and one day out of the blue, your ability to express your emotions, your point of view, and your perspective will be powerful and impactful.
Disadvantages of reading and writing is: you won’t be able to fit in most of the groups until you find one. It’s not easy like everything else in life.
Read fiction to improve imagination. Read non-fiction to understand people and events. Read fast, read slow — but read to calm down. I’ve tried many ways to read faster, but the best method is surprisingly simple: use your finger as a pointer. I read a lot, and what works best for me is placing a ruler or a folded paper under the line I’m reading. It helps the eyes focus and keeps the mind from wandering. About 80% of the time. I read like this. The remaining 20%, I read freely without any guide.
